Meet Dr. Donald Stubbs

Professional Background

Dr. Stubbs began his long career in dentistry by attending the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Dentistry and graduating with honours in 1984. He completed his orthodontist specialist training at the University of Toronto’s graduate orthodontic program in 1989.

Dr. Stubbs has been providing orthodontic care in Aurora since 1989. He joined practices with his orthodontist wife, Dr. Janice McMinn, with locations in Keswick and Uxbridge.

Professional Involvement

Dr. Stubbs is the founding member of the Aurora Dental Study Club, which brings together York region dental colleagues to Aurora Braces' in-house classroom so they can stay current in all aspects of dentistry. It is the York region’s longest-running professional study club to promote continuing dental education.

Dr. Stubbs has also served as president of the Toronto Orthodontic Club, Canada’s longest-running study club for orthodontic specialists, and dedicated to orthodontic excellence through continuing education by world-renowned lecturers.

Community Involvement

Dr. Stubbs was recently honoured by the Provincial Parliament with the Ontario 25-Year Volunteer Service Award, which recognized his commitment to improving the quality of life for citizens through involvement with the Optimist Club of Aurora and annual chess tournaments.

Outside the Office

Dr. Stubbs and his wife, Dr. Janice McMinn, have four children, all of whom were raised in Aurora. His hobbies and interests include windsurfing, cycling, and organic gardening. Most recently, his free time has been spent on a tractor building Georgian Bay Park.
